Yet again, the astounding hypocrisy of the fundamentalist Christians. You know, the ones who run around whining about how gays would destroy the sanctity of marriage. I think you hypocritical evangelical adulterers* have already accomplished that, don’t you?

Mark Sanford and Rep. Chip Pickering, all of whom are Republicans who are members of the C Street Christian cult in Washington, the same cult that encouraged the Ugandan government to institute the death penalty for gays. The list of of other conservative Christian adulterers includes Republican Sens. I’ll give them credit, the Susan Komen folks and all the other breast-cancer lobbyists. But I think the they’ve turned into a Mafia, strong-arming everyone to fixate on breast cancer as if that’s some litmus test for caring about women.

Here’s the reality, from CDC statistics: Heart disease, the number 1 cause of death in American women, killed 329,238 American women in 2005. Lung cancer, number 3, claimed 69,078 that year. Breast cancer? 41,116, making it the seventh most common cause of death from disease. That means EIGHT TIMES as many American women die from heart disease as they do from breast cancer.

And that “one in eight women” will get breast cancer stat? Well, that is not a per-year estimate. Rather, it is calculated over a lifetime to age ninety-five. If researchers were to follow a large group of girls born today and track them until they became ninety-five years old, then one out of every eight of those girls (approximately 12.5%) would develop breast cancer sometime in her lifetime.

In contrast, one in three American adult women has some form of cardiovascular disease.

Yet, here’s an incessant push to get free mammograms for women—if you listen to the “breasties”, they’d like women to get screened from age 30 on, no matter the real risks of radiation, false positives, anxiety, unnecessary biopsies, etc. Pink has been turned into some kind of political statement.

If we put our resources proportionately to risk, we should instead be pushing free heart scans, and cholesterol and CRP blood tests, for women starting at age 40. What we need is a heart disease awareness movement.

This nation has gone to hell. Obama is an emasculated incrementalist and coward. Merry Christmas everyone, we powerless have-littles.

What’s appalling, though not surprising from this state, is that the additional cost amounts to about $5 a worker PER YEAR, or 2¢ a day.

You know, you small businesspeople, if you can’t come up with less than $5 a year per worker, then maybe you suck at business. Shame on you for your continual astonishingly me-first worship of the almight buck.

Since you ran on a job-creation platform, you might like this idea. Please hire some people to remove the 30-plus campaign signs from the median strips on Arlington Boulevard between Cedar Lane and Pickett Street. These are a form of visual pollution and besides, I believe it is well past time that you are required to remove them from public property. You can get them all up practically overnight, often 10 per linear yard, so surely, more than 2 weeks after the election, you could also have them removed.

No doubt there is some unemployed Virginian who could use the income.
