Sometime in 2007, Macy’s flipped about 3.5 million inactive store credit accounts to CitiBank credit cards. The multiple poor decisions on Macy’s and CitiBank’s parts to do this are astonishing: privacy, identity theft, affecting people’s credit scores, and just plain pissing people off.

Okay, so the rest of the country is going to help you out and modify your loan. But you should not also walk away with a clean credit score, too.
