Republican Senators expressed concern that Labor Secretary nominee Solis “is connected with pro-union interests.” Gee, you’d think that you’d want the Secretary of Labor to be in favor of labor’s interests! What a concept! These of course are the same folks who complain that the stimulus plan is full of spending.

The National Bureau of Economic Research has let us all know today that the recession started in December 2007. Gee, thanks, I guess us unenlightened civilians can now use the term recession with official approval. And economists wonder why people think they are out of touch.

AIG now wants to hand out $500 million in deferred compensation to its executives, because, get this, they don’t want to lose these “talented” employees.
What talent exactly would that be?

AIG is suddenly concerned about the American economy and its shareholders. Where were they when they took on all those risky investments to make a buck?
